The GLP-1 Habit Report 2026: What 1,090 Users Reveal About Routines

Quick answer
Across 1,090 self-identified GLP-1 users on HAVIT, people on GLP-1 medications track wellness habits *more consistently* than the general user base — and they log meals, water, and weight most. But one gap stands out: they get plenty of protein per meal and far too little fiber, which maps directly onto the most common GLP-1 complaint, constipation.
01
Why we ran this report
Most GLP-1 content online repeats the same drug-label facts.
We wanted to answer a different question with real behavior data: what do people actually do on GLP-1 — which routines do they build, and where do they slip? The answers come from how HAVIT users log their journey, aggregated and de-identified.
02
Finding 1 — GLP-1 users build stronger habits than average
Using HAVIT's habit scores (a proprietary 0–10 scale per wellness dimension), the GLP-1 cohort out-scores the overall user base on almost every dimension.
What it means: starting a GLP-1 medication tends to coincide with a broader behavior reset — not just taking a shot, but eating, moving, and hydrating more deliberately.
(Association, not proof of cause; motivated users may both start GLP-1 and log more.) The practical takeaway: the medication works best as the anchor of a routine, not a replacement for one.

03
Finding 2 — What GLP-1 users track most
Among the 735 GLP-1 users with active tracking streaks, this is where their attention goes (share of tracked habit-days):
| Rank | Habit tracked | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Meals | 34% |
| 2 | Water | 21% |
| 3 | Weight | 19% |
| 4 | Activity | 13% |
| 5 | Sleep | 8% |
| 6 | Fasting | 5% |
What it means: food and hydration dominate — which fits the GLP-1 experience of reduced appetite, where every bite and every glass counts.
Weight is third: users watch the trend, not just the scale number. If you're starting out, these top three (meals, water, weight) are the highest-leverage things to log.
04
Finding 3 — The protein-is-fine, fiber-is-missing gap
This is the most actionable finding. Looking at logged nutrition (n=334 users, 1,441 logged days):
| Metric | Logged average | Reference |
|---|---|---|
| Protein per meal | 25.3 g | ~25–40 g target ✅ near floor |
| Fiber per meal | 4.0 g | far below target ⚠️ |
| Logged days hitting 25 g fiber | ~4% | 25–35 g/day recommended |
What it means: GLP-1 users have clearly absorbed the "protein first" message — per-meal protein sits near the recommended floor.
But fiber is neglected (roughly a 6:1 protein-to-fiber ratio in logged meals), and only about 1 in 25 logged days reached a basic fiber target.
That matters because low fiber is a direct driver of the #1 GLP-1 side effect: constipation. (Caveat: logged intake understates total intake since users average ~2 logged meals/day — but the protein-vs-fiber imbalance holds regardless of under-logging.)
Fix it: pair your protein with high-fiber foods every meal — chia, beans, berries, oats, leafy greens, psyllium — and track fiber, not just protein.

Takeaways if you're on a GLP-1
- 1
Anchor a routine, don't rely on the drug alone
the users doing best track consistently across food, water, and weight.
- 2
Log the top three
meals, water, weight. They're where GLP-1 users focus and where the leverage is.
- 3
Close the fiber gap
you've likely got protein handled; fiber is the miss that fuels constipation.
- 4
Watch the weight trend, not the daily number.
06
Methodology
Aggregated, de-identified data from HAVIT platform users who self-identified as GLP-1 users (cohort n=1,090; sub-samples noted per finding), extracted 2026-07.
Habit scores are HAVIT's proprietary 0–10 per-dimension index.
This is observational data (association, not causation); the platform user base is currently weighted toward Korea, though the behavioral patterns generalize.
Weight-loss outcomes are intentionally excluded here — longitudinal weight logging was too sparse to report responsibly (see our clinical program for outcome data).

Why HAVIT — Medication + Behavior Change, in One App
GLP-1 medications can meaningfully reduce weight — but the number on the scale is only part of the story.
Roughly 20–40% of the weight lost on GLP-1 therapy can come from lean (muscle) tissue rather than fat (Neeland et al., Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, 2024), and results tend to fade once the medication stops unless new habits take their place.
That's why leading guidance treats medication as one part of care, not the whole: the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that adults with obesity be offered intensive, multicomponent behavioral interventions (USPSTF, Grade B).
HAVIT is built for exactly this moment — one app that unites medication tracking, body composition, nutrition and protein, daily habit-building, and an AI coach that adapts to you.
Across our own 1,090 GLP-1 users, the most consistent trackers built the strongest habits (see the GLP-1 habit report).

What is Havit?
Havit is an AI health companion for weight loss that protects muscle.
Unlike calorie-only trackers, Havit connects AI body-composition estimates, nutrition, hydration, sleep, steps, cycle, mood, and GLP-1 medication in one daily routine — so progress is measured by body composition, not just the number on the scale. Daily missions turn established behavior-change techniques into small repeatable actions, drawing on expertise from professionals formerly at Juvis Diet, one of Korea’s leading metabolic clinics.
In Havit’s own analysis of 1,090 GLP-1 users, people who logged consistently built stronger habits than the general user base. Read the GLP-1 Habit Report
Havit works with or without GLP-1 medication. It is a wellness app, not a medical device; body-composition results are estimates.
